KAWASAKI KLE500 TAKES THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED ON RAWANG–BUKIT TAGAR MEDIA RIDE

SHAH ALAM, 10 October 2026 – Following its recent long-distance media programme, Kawasaki Malaysia continued showcasing the versatility of the Kawasaki KLE500 through a dedicated one-day media ride combining road riding with an accessible light off-road experience.

The programme brought together selected media representatives and content creators for an approximately 70-kilometre guided route from Rawang to Bukit Tagar, also known as Dangdut, before returning to Rawang.

Participants began the morning with breakfast and equipment preparation before collecting their allocated KLE500 motorcycles at the Kawasaki Technical Centre in Glenmarie.

Participants listen closely as the marshal explains the route, trail conditions and essential safety procedures.

The group then travelled to MotoManiac in Rawang, where participants received an off-road safety briefing covering riding posture, group formation, trail conditions, recovery procedures and communication protocols.

From Tarmac to Trail

The guided route began from Taman Bayu Permai and incorporated paved roads, unpaved kampung routes, gravel, sand and oil-palm plantation trails.

The group is flagged off from MotoManiac to begin the guided Rawang–Bukit Tagar off-road session.

The combination of surfaces allowed participants to experience how the KLE500 transitions from normal road riding to light off-road terrain while remaining approachable for riders with limited off-road experience.

The route exposed participants to changing surfaces, including kampung roads, gravel, sand and oil-palm plantation trails.

The motorcycles were used with their standard factory tyres, demonstrating that specialised knobby tyres were not required for the selected route under the prevailing conditions.

A participant navigates one of the more technical sections of the Rawang–Bukit Tagar trail.

Two experienced guides supported the off-road session, with one leading the group and another acting as the sweeper. A rescue truck, support vehicle and first-aid assistance were also stationed throughout the programme.

Supported by Industry Partners

LEXIN Malaysia supported the media ride by providing MTX intercom systems and riding arm sleeves, helping participants stay connected during the convoy and trail sessions.

RAINMAN also supported the programme with motorcycle phone holders, allowing participating media to experience the product during actual riding conditions.

The KLE500 units used during the programme were supported by participating authorised Kawasaki dealers, demonstrating the important role of the dealer network in bringing Kawasaki riding experiences closer to the media and wider riding community.

Participants survey the trail ahead before continuing through the next section of the route.

The one-day media ride offered participants a focused opportunity to evaluate the KLE500’s handling, ergonomics and confidence across mixed terrain in a controlled and safety-led environment.

Participants gather for a group photo with the MotoManiac marshals and sweepers after completing the off-road session.

Through programmes such as the KLE500 Media Ride, Kawasaki Malaysia continues to promote responsible adventure riding while creating opportunities for more riders to explore the capabilities of the KLE500 beyond everyday roads.
